FAQs

Printing

You will need a debit card or credit card that you can use to make online payments, ideally a UK bank card, or an online bank card such as Monzo or Revolut. If your bank requires you to verify online payments with one time passwords (OTPs), please ensure you are able to verify these.

If you are not able to make or verify online payments with your card, for example if it is an international bank account card, please see the relevant FAQ below.

Visit https://printplus.uea.ac.uk:9192/user, or search for ‘Papercut UEA’ on your internet browser. Log in with your UEA username and password. Please enter your UEA username WITHOUT @uea.ac.uk - you only need the first part e.g. abc23def.

Once you are logged into Papercut, select ‘Add credit’ from the left hand menu. If you are using a mobile phone, you may need to click ‘view in desktop mode’ first.

Log into the UEA payments page with your UEA username and your last name.

Follow the steps on the UEA payments website, as you would for a normal online purchase.

Once you have added printing credit, you can send documents to any of the printers in the Library. You can send documents from your phone or laptop, or from the Library computers. If you wish to print A3 size, you must send your document from the Library computers.

Sending a document to the Library printers from your own phone or laptop:

  • Visit https://printplus.uea.ac.uk:9192/user, or search for ‘Papercut UEA’ on your internet browser. Log in with your UEA username and password. Please enter your UEA username WITHOUT @uea.ac.uk - you only need the first part e.g. abc23def.

  • Once you are logged into Papercut, select ‘Web Print’ from the left hand menu. If you are on a mobile phone, you may need to click ‘view in desktop mode’ first.

  • Click the green ‘Submit a job’ button. Then choose how you would like your document to be printed – Please select either black and white (PrintPlus+BW) or colour (PrintPlus+Colour), and single sided or double sided (Duplex).

  • Then choose how many copies you want of the document. Then upload your document – you will need to have it saved to your files first in order to upload it.

  • Once you have clicked ‘Upload and complete’ you will see your print job listed as ‘held in a queue’. You can now head to any printer in the Library.

  • At the printer, tap your campus card on the card reader to log in, or you can manually type in your UEA username and password. Once you are logged in, press print all, and your document will be released from the printer.

  • Don’t forget to log out of the printer once you are finished!

Sending a document to the Library printers from a Library computer:

  • Log into the Library computer with your UEA username and password.

  • Open the document you wish to print e.g. a Word document, PDF, or file attached to an email.

  • When you have the document open, click the print icon if it is a PDF, or File > Print if it is a Word document. In the printer selection box, choose either ‘PrintPlus+BW’ for black and white printing, or ‘PrintPlus+Colour’ for colour printing.

  • Check the printer setting to make sure you have selected the paper size you want (either A4 or A3) and choose if you want to print double sided or single sided.

  • Click print. A pop-up box will appear on the screen to confirm how much the print job will cost. Click Print on the pop-up box. You can now head to any printer in the library.

  • At the printer, tap your campus card on the card reader to log in, or you can manually type in your UEA username and password. Once you are logged in, press print all, and your document will be released from the printer.

  • Don’t forget to log out of the printer once you are finished!

If you don’t have a bank card, or your bank card can’t be used to make online payments, please speak to a member of Library staff at the Library Helpdesk. The Library Helpdesk is on Floor 0 of the Library (the floor you enter and exit the building on).

Library staff will be able to help you print important documents until you have your own UK or online bank card. Please note, we offer this assistance as a temporary measure until you are able to acquire your own bank card that you can use to add printing credit to your account.
