Newspapers and magazines

Newspaper page info

Our newspaper and magazine subscriptions can be used in two different ways:

  1. Read a daily newspaper to keep up to date with current affairs, economic and financial news both in the UK and worldwide
    • Use the PressReader, Financial Times or Economist apps on your device
    • Set up daily news alerts and in depth newsletters via email from the Financial Times and Economist
  2. Search through our databases of thousands of newspapers to find information on your research topics
    • Use Gale Research Complete, PressReader and Nexis in your browser to search thousands of newspapers worldwide

The Economist

New users should go to the Economist registration page and fill in their details using their UEA email address

An email verification will be sent through to this address, which you will need to verify.

Once verified you will be lead back to Economist.com where you will see a pop up with the UEA logo, this pop up will have links to the Economist app, newsletters and events.

The Economist has content from the print edition published since 1997.

Just like academic journals, there are databases that allow you to search across many thousands of newspapers at the same time. Use subject specific keywords, company names and date ranges to narrow down your search and find relevant news articles.
