Books and ebooks

Books and ebooks page info

Books are always important, however different types of books will be useful to you at different points in your studies. See below for how to find books and ebooks and explanations of the different types of books that the UEA Library holds.

  • Textbooks - these are designed to be read in combination with your teaching on a module and give a good overview of a particular topic
    • See which textbooks your tutors want you to read on your Reading List
  • Monographs - these are often written by a single author who explores a single concept or theory in depth
  • Edited collections and handbooks - these books are made up of chapters written by different authors. Each chapter is a cohesive piece of work and so you reference the chapter author in your work.
  • Dictionaries - these give short definitions of words and theories used in economics
  • Encyclopedias - these are collections of short introductory articles that each give a brief overview of a topic
