The building works have now completed and Floor 0 has reopened!

We are so excited that Floor 0 is now back open for users. The works have created a more dynamic learning environment with the quality of the study spaces greatly enhanced.

One of the biggest changes has been the removal of the entrance barriers. The Library now provides greater accessibility and features a spacious reception area that we hope users will love.

“We are very pleased with the result of the refurbishment works over the summer carried out by Estates and MJS in partnership with Library staff. Floor 0 now has a more open and accessible entrance and a range of brand-new study spaces, all designed in response to student feedback. I am confident that our users will appreciate the changes made to their Library which will help to enhance the quality of study and research.” - Nicholas Lewis, Library Director

New study spaces have been created on Floor 0

“The newly improved facilities and study spaces on Floor 0 are very exciting. With easier access, an improved reception and helpdesk, more study spaces and more capacity for charging electronics, plus improved signage on the way, we anticipate that these changes will significantly improve the service for students and staff who use the space regularly, and for anyone who may visit the Library.” – Carly Sharples, Head of User Experience (Library)

New more comfortable furniture has been brought in

“It’s fantastic that the Library’s been refreshed over the summer in response to student feedback. We’re looking forward to meeting new and returning students at our CareerCentral helpdesk.” – Evan Hancock, Associate Director of Student and Graduate Success (Careers Service).

Many of the study spaces come with power sockets

Access times into the Library have also now changed. Users can freely enter the building between 08:00 - 18:00 daily. From 18:00 - 8:00 you will need your campus card to access the Library.
