Elsevier Read & Publish Deal: Home

Key Summary

This deal provides full read access to Elsevier's Core and Freedom collection titles, selected Cell Press and Lancet portfolio titles and some society journals. It also gives researchers at UEA the opportunity to publish articles on an open access basis in Elsevier's Core hybrid journals, all hybrid Cell press and The Lancet portfolios free of charge* helping to make UK research more accessible and sustainable.

Publishing open access under this agreement

If you are a UEA researcher wanting to publish open access in a hybrid Elsevier journal, Cell press or Lancet title, your Article Publishing Charges (APCs) are covered under this deal if you are the corresponding author *.  If the Elsevier journal is a Fully Gold open access journal, then this deal provides UEA corresponding authors with a 15% discount on the APC. Please contact openresearch@uea.ac.uk prior to submission to discuss options for sources of funding to cover the remaining 85% APC cost.

A CC BY licence must be chosen whenever it is offered.

If you are considering publishing in an Elsevier title that is not listed above, you may be eligible to publish OA via a route separate to this agreement. Please contact openresearch@uea.ac.uk in this instance.

(Please note, there may be titles on the OA publishing list to which we do not have Read access at UEA).

Conditions

* Please note that a small number of economics, finance and accounting Elsevier journals charge submission fees, which are re-invested back into the community.  A limited number of society-owned journals charge mandatory editorial page fees in addition to APCs. These charges are charged separately, directly to the author.

Additional chargeable fees are at the author's discretion, for example, the choice to pay colour charges for articles in print.
